| International Driving Weekend 2009 |

Celebrating 21 years of this annual event, held mostly in September each year, the Bentley Drivers Club saw over 60 cars gathered at the lovely setting of the Millennium Hotel in Copthorne, West Sussex.
Among the many activities organised for the members a visit to the ‘banking at Brooklands’ proved a highlight for most of the drivers. Visits to the Concorde Experience, Hever and Arundel Castles and driving through the wonderful countryside of Sussex, with the added bonus of glorious weather, meant a truly memorable weekend for all the guests. The weekend was supported by Bentley Motors and London Bentley main dealers Jack Barclay; at the Saturday Gala Dinner 10 superb Bentleys joined the members on the dance-floor, from a vintage 4½ Ltr to the very latest Brooklands, ‘a unique experience’ remarked one of the guests. A special musical recital from Melodie Waddingham, English National Opera, and her daughter Hannah Waddingham, a Broadway and West End star, entertained the assembled guests. A raffle supporting the ‘Help for Hero’s’ and ‘Macmillan Cancer Relief’ charities raised a total of £2,600.
