Talks Day at the Clubhouse 2023

Wednesday 22nd March, 2023

By Stuart Newman

LAST CHANCE TO BOOK! Only a few seats still remaining

With only just over a week to go until Talks Day at the Clubhouse on Saturday 1 April, and only a few seats left, we’ll shortly have to close bookings to confirm final numbers to our caterers – so if you haven’t already reserved your places please BOOK NOW before we paste up the Sold Out sign!

Tickets cost £20 each.

Last year’s event sold out six weeks before the big day, so please reserve your seats on the Events page of the Club website. Alternatively, contact Noel Trewhela at the Club Office (email: noel.trewhela@bdcl.org) now to ensure your seat for another packed day of entertainment.

The keynote speaker is Mike Flewitt, CEO of McLaren Automotive from 2013 to 2021 and Production Director at Crewe in the 1990s.

Mike will be sharing stories about his stellar career in the motor industry, including the introduction and launch of the Arnage and McLaren’s meteoric rise over the last decade to become one of the world’s leading supercar manufacturers.

Also speaking will be Paul Griffin, the respected historic motoring author and academic who has recently published a book entitled The Past and the Spurious.

The third speaker is well-known racer and TV presenter Amanda Stretton. Amanda will be sharing her forthright views in conversation with best-selling author and Foundation Life Associate Peter Grimsdale.

The day will also include a superb Wroxton Motor Show.

McLaren, Alfa Romeo, Frazer Nash, Lotus, BAC Mono, Ferrari, BMW – and, of course, Bentley!

We’re juggling space (and praying to the weather gods) to display the maximum number of cars at the Wroxton Motor Show at the Clubhouse.

From the 1920s to the 2020s - one more attraction for everybody on Talks Day.
