Event: Stonor Park, Oxon

Enjoy our garden party in the scenic Chiltern Hills

Concours d’Elegance 2018 - Sunday 10 June

Sitting in the heart of the picturesque Chiltern Hills, historic Stonor Park is another perfect location for the Club’s annual Concours d’Elegance this summer.

Boasting a private deer park set in a sweeping valley, Stonor Park features three lush gardens which will altogether serve as a magnificent backdrop to the day’s proceedings.

Many of the grand house’s buildings date back to Medieval times, with a 12th century Pantry café, magnificent chapel – built around 100 years later – and the remains of a prehistoric stone circle adding further lustre to the rural venue.

The day itself will follow the tried and trusted formula that has made the Club’s previous Concourses such a success.

At the heart of the occasion will be the serious business of judging of cars in the Concours classes, with Philip Sandwith once again presiding as Chief Judge. Who will succeed Kevin Jackson, the 2017 victor with his pristine Arnage T, as this year’s overall champion?

All Bentleys arriving on the day will have the chance to leave with a prize, with judging also taking place in the Patina and Ladies’ Choice classes.

Bragging rights will also be up for grabs in the Inter-Regional Team Challenge – with each Region invited to enter a team of three cars (Vintage, Derby or Crewe) owned by their Members. Speak to your Regional Chairman to see what’s planned. With the North-West winning last year, it’s sure to be a hotly contested category once again.

Aside from viewing the splendid array of Bentleys on display, visitors will once again be able to enjoy fine dining in a comfortable marquee, drop in to the WOBMF tent and browse the plethora of car-related exhibitors’ stands.

The Concours d’Elegance is always one of the highlights of the Club’s annual calendar – and, as ever, we are encouraging Members to ‘make a real weekend of it’. With the Open Day at the Clubhouse in Wroxton being held on the Saturday – featuring a BBQ and test drives of new Bentleys – it’s an ideal opportunity to arrange tours and weekend stays. Check with your Regional committee to see what they are arranging.

Whether attending or competing, please complete and return the booking and entry form (including pre-booking your lunches) in the Advertiser & Diary as soon as possible – but no later than Friday 25 May. Advance booking and on the day prices will be confirmed shortly.
