The above photo (hopefully if the upload worked) is my car having been delivered to Australia in 1924 prior to the body being built. Would anyone hazard a guess on the tyres, are they beaded edge or straight sided?
When I acquired the car it had straight sided wheels with a circlip like ring to hold the tyre in place, subsequently these wheels developed cracks and I replaced them with well based rims. I’m now wondering if beaded edge might have been a better choice, lighter steering etc.. But obvious disadvantages too.

Your car looks perfectly fine to me, John!

You use it as it should be used, and the various changes add to its practicality.

Bearing this in mind, I wouldn’t worry about such things, unless you want the car to become a static exhibit.

Cheers
John

When supplied by the Australian agent Fred Brodribb to Arthur Turdich your 3 litre was fitted with 820 x 120 B/E tyres. In one period side on photo you can read Dunlop Cord on the spare wheel. I will try an attach the photo to this post otherwise i will send it by email.

Thank you Tony, that is brilliant.

I have only just noticed that in the 1920’s it had two side mounted spares, no doubt on BE tyres and the rough outback roads this was essential.
