Mk VI claims coveted award at Hampton Court Concours of Elegance

Congratulations to BDC Member Don Reedman whose magnificent 1947 Mk VI 4¼ by Freestone & Webb (pictured) was awarded the Bentley Trophy at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court on Sunday (5 September).

Runner up was the 1930 4 Litre Vanden Plas Tourer of fellow Member Richard van Maanen, with the 1956 S1 Four-Door Saloon by James Young owned by Richard Harwood, also a Club Member, placed third.

Giles Crickmay, of Frank Dale & Stepsons, the renowned Bentley specialists, acted as Judge while Richard Charlesworth, formerly of Bentley Motors, conducted the presentations and interviews with the awards winners around Hampton Court’s famous fountain.

In all, 41 Club Members took the opportunity to display their cars in front of the historic palace in glorious sunshine on what has traditionally become known as Bentley Sunday.
