Added benefits for Regions: Events page revamp and new email facility
The BDC website has enjoyed the first of a planned series of updates, as announced by Paul Spencer, Board Director with responsibility for IT matters.
• The Events page now allows different views of events, including a calendar and map.
• This page also allows filtering by Region and event type.
• There is a new email facility that allows Regions to send messages to their Members without taking up the valuable time of Club Office staff.
• The next release will allow online booking of Regional events.
The Club website has two main purposes: one is to attract new Members, the other is to provide services for existing Members. After extensive consultation, this release makes event information much easier to see for Members.
Have a look at your Region’s page, which has a few changes, including a map of events in the Region. If your Region has not yet uploaded its events, check back soon. From there, clicking on 'See more events' will take you to the Events page, with the filters preset to show all events from your Region. It is a simple matter from there to choose to include other Regions and national events by clicking on 'Filter'. Select the types of event you want to see and choose a different display format.
The website also has other changes in the background – for example, for Regions to see what events are being planned in other Regions, and to contact Members via email. You can change your communications preferences in your profile page.
Have a look at the website – there is a lot more planned for it, but this latest series of updates addresses many of the changes people have requested.
