Life on the Wilds side
Over a hugely successful sixty-year career Mike Wilds has raced in Formula 1 with Stanley-BRM, won the World Group C2 Team Championship plus twelve British Championships in Sports, GT & Touring Cars and competed in European Formula 3 & European Formula 5000. Now he’s written his highly entertaining – and often hilarious – life story. Fire up your ears for Mike’s sparkling tales of life in the fast lane!
WO, an Indian, a DFP and a Bentley at Aston Hill
Before and after WW1 the renowned Aston Hill in Buckinghamshire was one of the Britain’s most important hillclimb venues – and racing-mad WO Bentley knew it well. Pre-war he competed with his Indian motorcycle and one of the DFP cars which he and his brother HM distributed in the UK. Post-war Bentley works driver Frank Clement campaigned a 3 Litre there. In the centenary year of what would have been Aston Hill’s final event Mike Stark recounts WO’s early ventures and the story of the hillclimb.
