Competitors at Spa Six Hours meeting pay tribute to foremost BDC racer who passed away recently

The racing world came together to pay a respectful tribute to late Club Member Peter Morley at the Spa Six Hours meeting last weekend.

Drivers, including Peter's son Clive and grandsons Stuart and James (pictured centre) alongside several other BDC racers, gathered prior to the start of the Motor Racing Legends Pre-War Sports Cars race to honour the long-time and successful Bentley driver, who passed away recently aged 91.

Clive and James (3/4½ Litre) suitably honoured Peter's memory when they claimed the Bentley spoils in the 40-minute race, with Stuart (Continuation Series 4½ Litre Blower) joining them on the PW3 class podium.

“We had a photograph with all the drivers before the start, stickers on all the cars and a toast of champagne after the race,” said Stuart, who added: “It was great to be on the class podium with my dad and brother so soon after grandad’s passing – he would have been so chuffed.”
