Dear Sir / Madam,
I am hoping you can help me.
The Discovery Channel and Lion Television, are casting for a new series about Car Garages in the UK, and I was hoping you might be able put my details on your forum, in case members know of any quirky garages that might be suitable.
The programme will focus on one garage, which has several members of the same family working for it (can be husband and wife, granddad and grandson, father and daughter…the more members the merrier!). It could even by run by lifelong friends.
Ideally it will be a normal garage with a twist – on top of doing repairs and the usual, they will work on classic cars or bikes, or race cars or bikes, have a towing service or a truck or something extra.
We need great characters in the family; they need to have some good chat and have a funny dynamic with each other. The garage we are looking for will be anywhere in England. The filming would be as unobtrusive as possible.
If you need any more information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me; vanda.kettelhut@liontv.co.uk or 0141 331 6430.
Thanks again,
Vanda |

Chris, I had often wondered whether we were on the same planet. Now I know we are in different Universes, it explains everything. |

Paul,
Have you been watching Prof Jim, the Arab, and his 3 parts series on the creation of the Universe?
It is "Poisson d'Avril" tomorrow, and would P&A consider the request? |

I wondered if anybody read my posts after weeks of a moribund forum......
Notice how nothing changes and the bulk of the interest is in "proper Bentley,s, when even W O himself declared that the 3 1/2 litre Derby car was the best car that he had ever driven. |

The variable rate of posting to this forum has puzzled me for a long time. I suppose when it is boiled down the answer is that there are not enough contributors. In comparison with some other forums to which I no longer bother to contribute, or even read, most of the stuff in here is worth looking at, so quality beats quantity. |

As you know, ever since we specified the web site, the plan has been for a single sign-on for web site and forum. This was not done by the original developer before we decided to cut our losses and switch to C-IT. C-IT is now up to date on how the site and content management system are constructed, and has completed all the work-in-progress that Red Box was doing. Their next task is to improve some things around event booking, then I am thinking of the single sign-on as part of a project to introduce Special Interest Groups as the forum is an ideal way for these to communicate.
The SIGs came out of the work being done on strategy and will help those with similar interests to get together. I will start a thread. |
