Can anybody point me in the direction of someone who sells second hand parts. We are going to need some for the shooting brake.
I am talking about parts like a complete engine and bellhousing with clutch linkages, radiator shell, master cylinder and brackets etc etc.
Any advise very greatfully received.

Hi Andrew,
I've bought most of those items off ebay over the years but the pickings are pretty poor there at the moment. I've had some hard-to-find bits from Gary Bretherton but I understand he lost his premises this year so he may have sold up. FS and Introcar will have all that but you may need a stiff drink after receiving the quote.
I've had consistentlly good results from "wanted" ads in the Advertiser over the years, sometimes following some rather obscure requests, and met some lovely people in the process.
Given the number of parts you need, it might work out cheaper to buy a spares car and then sell on the bits you don't need for a special. Rolling chassis seem to go for nearly the same as ropey cars.

The soon to be ex owner is advertising for parts in the new comic. What a very sorry down hill tale from acquiring the car in Washington State and driving it to DC in 24 hours to a robbed out nightmare. |
