My research into my '58 Radford Countryman had me looking carefully through the Membership booklet , recently sent to me from the Club.
Albeit dated 2015.....the club only lists 43 cars in the UK, and another 43 abroad, plus 3 S1 specials (?) S1 Continentals are listed separately, so not included in the 43's.
I believe 3500 S1's were built, so it looks as if the tin-worm has been having a good time ?
I have found a few registration numbers from various photographs for the S1 Radfords, but non appear to be club members. Even so, if we 'best guess' that there are twice as many survivng cars as club members cars.......that would only leave 100 ish in the UK.
Does that seem low to you all ?
Anyone else out there with an S1 Radford Countryman....? This is a very lonely place to be ....! |

The data base of the "superior" RREC, lists 480 registered Bentley S1 4 door saloons, plus 3 Radford "Countryman".
There is too much information out there. |

http://howmanyleft.co.uk doesn't have the S1 , or any models from that era, listed. Interestingly, most of the Continental GTCs are listed with the name mis-spelt as Contingntal. Presumably this is a mistake on the DVLA database. If so, I'm surprised Bentley Motors hasn't spotted it. |

By the spelling, it looks as if the DVLA has farmed the job out to a Bangladeshi call centre. ?
When I phoned the RREC, they replied that there were no records of Radford Countryman cars ?...but they have found 3.
So have I, but not in the Club.
Bit more detective work required, methinks. ! |

No the RREC record search is for "Countryman", the read out says "Radford".
So much information but they can,t access their own. |
