I have an early 4-1/4 Mk VI that has been modified to a single bolt oil filter configuration.
Is there a retrofit setup available to incorporate a modern oil filter arrangement?
This topic has been extensively discussed a decade or so ago but currently Flexolite appears to offer a setup for the 6 bolt filter configuration but not the single center bolt version. |

Hi Chris,
Look at FA019, it is the R Type one. The single bolt full flow mod is from the R Type engine. and known as Scheme A, in the filter mods, bulletin.
I have just bought one for the latest engine rebuild. £250.00.
You should Loctite the bolt, or the whole lot comes off when you try to remove the cartridge.
They send a new filter with the kit, but there must be about 100 alternatives. |
