They call it a 4.5L, but looks like a 3 / 4.5L to me.

The 1953 Monte Carlo R Type is also on the prewarcar.com link, with loads of useless history. |

That Flaminia on the postwar section, now there's a challenge. €15,000 of rust. |

It seems to have a complicated history, going from 4.5 to 3 to 4.5: http://www.vintagebentleys.org/carpages/uw6565.php
It's been commented on on the VSCC site. |

I assume that is the same car. I know there was a post on the VSCC site that linked them, but I am not sure on what basis. It certainly looks the same. It is a bit strange. It has a 4.5 litre chassis numberr. The first picture on VintageBentleys shows the reinforcing that the 4.5 litre chassis had but the 3 litre didn't. But it has a 3 litre radiator and bonnet. It used to have a 3 litre engine, but now a 4.5.
Clare Hay says that John Hunt rebuilt it as an Old Mother Gun replica. So that should be a 4.5.
I will be at Wroxton today and will see if anyone knows about it. |
