I can't see anyone wanting to tow a horse-box with one, as stated. The lack of diff-locks and the light coloured interior would rule that out.

(funny how it updates previous signatures. I didn't see that coming)

My daily driver has 235/45 x 17 tyres and I have ruptured the walls of two of them on a pothole while only doing about 15mph. While the Bentayga looks really good, certainly much better than the concept shown a while back, what's the point of it? I can't see those wheels surviving even a moderate bump, or the occasional brick end on an unadopted road. As for kerb crashing on the school run, forget it.

It is the best VW out of Crewe as yet.

The R-R 20 HP(Goshawk)was slated very badly by the motoring press back in 1922, and none of the authors had been near a car, let alone drive one.
They had "read all about it" from R-R publicity material, and the 20 went on to be the basis of all the prewar small horse power cars including large parts of the Derby Bentley.

So there, "experts"! (where "X" marks the spot etc.)

Give the new Chelsea tractor a chance, it is way out of our league anyway, with 120 pre-orders from the footie men.

The name is supposedly derived from Bentley and the taiga, so it should appeal to the "Comrades". Or should it be "Bentomski". Laughing

I think it looks 8.5/10, certainly a lot better than the concept as John said. I don't like the full width lower grille though, they should have made it more like the Conti one. I'd also have it in more traditional colours, especially the interior, but then I'm not the market they're aiming for.

However I'm not convinced it knows what it's supposed to be. It's got no low gear and no diff lock and those wheels and tyres don't look as if they'll last five minutes off-road. It'll be interesting to see how it fares on that front and whether there are any interesting options available. Typically I would guess that not many of these cars will ever see a muddy field.

I wouldn't say no though.

Just to say that I've just seen the Bentayga in the flesh (so to speak) at my local dealer (Hampshire).

It has huge road presence, there's no denying that and it's much nicer up close that the pictures might suggest.
