I have the common setup of a Land Rover motor set low on the passenger side of the windscreen with a rod connecting to a slave wiper on the driver's side. I had all that apart recently to fix the motor and now the driver's side wiper keeps dropping so low that it stalls the motor. I could just set everyrhing closer to vertical, but I would rather get rid of some of the free play. On the passenger side, the connecting rod is held to the wiper arm with a screw. This doesn't look like it is the original solution. On the driver's side, there is a pin (not removable as far as I can see). There is a huge amount of free play here since the hole in the rod is much larger than the pin. Do others have the rod pinned both sides? Is the pin removable? My last ditch solution is to remove the pin and drill and tap for a set screw. I am slightly reluctant to do this as it is not how it was originally. Does anyone have any thoughts? |

Go with your instincts, would a steel hex slot grub screw work? |
