A few years ago, the price of lubricating oils rose significantly and I was told it was because the price of a barrel of oil was rising. Now the oil price has plummeted, but lubricating oil prices are still rising. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. |

I imagine that the processing of lubricating oil is much more complex than that of petrol, in which case the cost of the crude oil which goes into it might be very small indeed. However that would not account for its price rising. What other ingredients go into the stuff?
