Hello,

Welcome to the new BDC forum - much the same as the old one for now - but we have a new address:

https://www.bdcl.org/forum

Please amend your bookmarks accordingly.

My name is Andrew and I’m taking over from Laurie Fox as manager of the BDC Forum. I'm very aware there wouldn't be a forum if it wasn't for Laurie. Any questions, please ask and I’ll do my best to answer them.

A little bit about me:

I’ve spent many a winter grazing my knuckles on obstinate bits of metal in cold, damp lock-ups. I own a new Bentley but I’m a vintage car owner at heart. I have plenty of "form" as they say back home.

Andrew, very many thanks for taking this on board. It is greatly appreciated and I hope will not become a burden.
I'm sure that in due course the forum will become more widely used and its value recognised.

Good afternoon Andrew,
I agree with what has been posted by John with respect to the likely growth in use of the forum over time and hope that the work it can create doesn't become to great a burden.
I am a member of AMOC as well as BDC and the volume of traffic on their forum can be relatively high and certainly keeps the "Webmaster" fully occupied from time to time.
Good luck in your new role and thank you for taking on the responsibility from Laurie.
Regards, Gary Masters.

Thank you very much for the good wishes and your concern. I would never complain about a forum being too busy! My aim is to make the forum as useful a resource to the membership as it possibly can be. Busy is good.

A little more on the move; it's happening Friday lunchtime(London time). There may be a little flicker as we throw the switch but we'll try to keep any disruption to a minimum.

Thank you for grasping the nettle.

Since most of my contact with the BDC is via this forum its continuation will be much appreciated. Good luck with your endeavours.

It works here too! Who'd have thought?

I got the distinct impression that under the old regime, posting daft pictures of oneself was rather disapproved of.

Best wishes,

Stephen

<wags finger> There's a little latitude as it's the first day of a new term, but don't tempt me...

Actually, the more posts the better, if anyone gets out of line, I'll remind them this is a club for Ladies and Gentlemen.

Stephen, did we not have a thread for posting pictures of oneself and cars?

John,

I'm sure you're right. Now we've ended up with at least one too many pictures of me on this thread.

I note everyone else has the good sense not to follow suit.

It's a lovely day for repairing a MKVI Bentley. I'd better get on with it.

I thought that, then I thought "it's a lovely day to go sailing", so the car still remains a hangar queen.

Hello Andrew - thanks for taking-over the reins from Laurie, and welcome!

Peter

(PS - as regards the MkVI/sailing decision on today's weather by Stephen/John respectively, I confess I just stayed indoors, indolently suffering from having-a-pleasant-Sunday-lunch syndrome..)

Many thanks, Andrew - just to let you know that the transfer has worked fine for me, with no hiccups.

And, just for a bit more variety, and to see if I can post them, a couple of photos from our combined SE Region Buffet Lunch/90th birthday party for a couple of 3 litres.

See us on Facebook - Bentley Drivers Club South East Region.

Chris
