We have just got back from the inaugural Bromyard Speed Festival. It was a fantastic event, especially considering it was the first time they have tried it. Each of the nine classes of vehicle got two twelve(ish) minute runs round the town centre on closed roads. Then they also had the original Bluebird from the National Motor Museum, Barry"Whizzo" Williams in a Mini Cooper and various trade stands.
Bluebird was there trying to raise money for a new gearbox. They proved the point when the existing one broke when they did a run. I recommended our very own Mr Carnley ...
Thoroughly recommended for next year.
Can't think why mine was about the most photographed car there!

Well done Paul, on two counts: first for representing the marque and the club at this new event... and secondly for the amusing name. And having a name LABEL made up was far more sensible than my action in having a name PAINTED on the bonnet I was jolly lucky that, when the joke wore thin, removing 'The Girlfriend' from the bonnet of GF 3372 didn't damage the underlying paint. _________________ Ron Warmington |
