This car is in the latest Advertiser. With the high ratio axle and o/d (I wonder how that got fitted in) it must be an amazing high speed cruiser!

You wait ages for a straight 8 engined MKVI special, then two come along at once;

I have never seen as many Bentley specials for sale as there are at the moment.

Nice enough looking car but I am not impressed by the slovenly tangle of braided "eek" HT cables from the Lucas No1 Mk 2, distributor.

Notice the MK VI starter, it gets everywhere, and I have exhausted the supply of them, except for one at serious £££.

I am in the testing stage of adapting modified Hitachi starters for the RGE cars, you know, "Proper Specials".

You should have seen the L series Derby rebody in the Delahaye style that rolled up in the sun yesterday all chrome and two tone blue. Then the camera battery failed.......!

I am rebuilding his Lagonda G10 gearbox, the 3rd speed driven gear having friction welded itself to the 3rd motion shaft. (No parts).
So much for the Bentley/Bastow era at Goods!

Are people concerned about the DVLA's interest in specials and rebodied cars?

That's not something that crops up much in conversation. The most popular reasons given for cars coming to market are old age or death.

There are vast numbers of old cars for sale generally so maybe the specials are just following the trend? If the auction house results are to be believed there must be lots of buyers around. Anecdotal evidence doesn't always match the reports, though.
