I'm interested in finding out more about the serial number, year of manufacture, what it started out as, the chassis number of the car it was originally installed in and anything else.
Grateful for any info and the sources - so I can do future investigation myself!
Thank you, in anticipation.

Al,
Do you mean B109F,or the engine of the German Bf109?
If the former, it was in chassis No B218FV delivered 12/49, to S Hayter Yellow Bus Services, Reg NPL 21. |

This nowhere my area of expertise, if indeed I have one, but I am wondering if the car would have been a Mk VI. If it is I am reminded that during the period I was writing the Biography of Laurie Fox he told me that there were, at least, three engines that had the same number as he replaced them during the 50 odd years he owned and ran his Mk.VI. Apparently it was 'practice' to put the old number on a new engine to keep the original paperwork going! I remember thinking that I would place no faith on a Mk VI engine numbers. |

This is quite true but the replacement factory rebuild was intended to come from the same chassis series of car. |
