The Dunlop bottle jack that came with my 1954 R-Type was frozen solid. I removed the four screws attaching the base and discovered that the rotating hub was rusted to the fixed housing. After a good deal of heating and applying pressure, I freed everything up and cleaned up the rust with emory cloth. It appears to me that there are pieces missing as there is nothing in the way of a thrust bearing to position the rotating hub and keep it off of the shoe plate and in contact with the spur gear. Can anyone tell me what pieces are missing from my jack?
