What would be the easiest way to remove the rear springs from my Derby without removing the rear axle.

Chock front wheels.

Lift rear of car onto axle stands.

With jack under differential lift up axle.

Remove the pinned U bolt nuts , you may have to lift jack further to get the axle shoe free. Put axle tubes on stands, after removing the U bolts.

There is a chassis lubrication pipe running on top of the nearside (LH)spring under the gaiter. Remove it.

You may have a little trouble with the vertical damper "rods".

Remove shackle pin nuts and pins.
