That one was prepared by Wayne Huckle and it was my privilege to see it at various stages of the rebuild. That smoke green (applied in house) really suits it. The attention to detail is stunning. |

The MK VI is B359EW,an HJ Mulliner 2dr/4light saloon with the lightweight all aluminium coachwork. Although "fast back it is not a Continental, but has an alligator bonnet. Delivered in May 1950 to Mr Beulah, a Lincolnshire canner.
The Erdman and Rossi is B101 LS, for Alan Graves.
How it presented in 2013.
Outside the Berlin-Halansee factory.

Correction it should be B 58 LS. I saw it on the old registration docs at the exhibition ground at the Villa Olmo and Bernard King confirms.

I should have written B10LS, even the "experts" were mis-informed. I bow to your keen observation.
It is good to know that one other person is interested! |

We try our best.
In fact B 10 LS is another Erdmann & Rossi example supplied to A. Graves in April 1938.
The above B 58 LS is from August 1938 supplied to Harry von Oppenheim. A year later he was on his way to Monte Carlo when the situation in Europe was such that he decided to change direction and head for Le Havre where he and the car were embarked and headed for New York.

The sepia-like shot "Outside the Berlin-Halansee factory" shows the car, with its split 'screen, at least as handsomely with the top up as down...those large hoods certainly don't pack away neatly! (Mind you, I'm basically just jealous..)

Me too even with its obvious Teutonic style.
There was another almost identical car B85 LE owned by the works themselves but bought later by a Russian spy call Louis. He housed it in a wooden garage which in 2004 caught fire and almost destroyed the car.
Erdmann & Rossi still exist as restorers of high end cars, but they appeer to have passed this project on to another firm.
There is some good blurb in the Mulliner Lightweight in the new "Comic". |
