My general profile is fully populated but my forum postings do not include details such as location. If I click on Profile on any posting I get to my forum profile and this shows just my name and there doesn't appear to be any way of amending this. It doesn't appear to be linked to my general profile, button top right of the screen. How can I amend the data shown in my forum profile and hence the data on the lhs of my postings? The FAQs do not help. Thanks. |

Nicholas, I’m sure it’s possible, but after a lot of looking I couldn’t work out how. A question for Head Office I think.

Thanks, John. I see your forum posting shows your location as London, but in spite of my My Profile being fully populated my forum id is blank in that respect. It also shows an incorrect joining date. I will contact HQ! |

Log on . Go to My Profile. Edit as you see fit including your address and then Save. |

Please note that I have already said that My Profile is fully populated, but these data fail to make it through to the lhs of my forum posts. |

It looks we've fallen foul of a dreaded software upgrade, which always do so much damage.
Our forum profiles are different from our general profiles. My forum profile is now out of date as it shows my location as Curbar, whereas I'm now in Bradley near Ashbourne; 13 miles NW of Nicholas. I, too have had a good play with the settings and have come to the conclusion that the only way to get my profile to be accurate is going to be to move back to Curbar.
Years ago, I had a pal who was on technical support for a very expensive piece of computational fluid dynamics software. His philosophy was that, when encountering software issues, it is important to give up at the earliest opportunity otherwise you risk wasting hours. I now wish I'd followed that advice here. |

I'm waiting for a response from HQ and I'll post here when I receive it. On a more important issue, I'm looking forward to meeting up again at our regular Wednesday lunches and hope to meet you one day, or maybe I have already and just can't remember you! |

I have had an email from Helen at HQ who has failed to find the fault so has passed it on to the software support chap. |

Thanks for taking this on. It needs sorting.
I'll explain about the forum moderator when we meet. I'm looking forward to finally meeting up, and seeing your cars. We're a bit of a lonely outcrop of the E. Mids region.

When I joined this club I quickly realised that the East Midlands Section was no use to me as all their events take place to the east of Grantham. We go to the events organised by the Midlands Section instead. In the RREC, all the East Midlands Section events are centred around Derby, which is ideal, especially as they organise at least twice as many events as any BDC section.
Once we're allowed to meet up again, you'll have to pop over for a coffee. |
