Does anyone have a locking boot lid handle with key for a Park Ward bodied 3 1/2 Derby? The handle is of a special side entry key design that allows for easier access to lock the boot with the boot mounted spare wheel in place. If anyone has such an item in their spare bits box under the bench, I would be very interested to buy this (whatever the condition) as mine has long since seized up.! |

The boot lock on my 1935 Park Ward Derby had a non-functional lock. It wouldn't turn with the ignition / door key. I assumed that it had been replaced. I sent it to Thomas Locks of Hove, who overhauled the lock and found it was the original so it now works with the original key. The price for fitting new pins, to match the original key, was £35, with a two day turn-round.
Brilliant service from a real locksmith. Try them, and keep all your locks on the same key.
