Good Morning,
A new member
I am new to the Bentley Marque.
I have a 2017 GTC V8S, which I am enjoying a great deal.
The question I have is regarding the convertible hood. There is wear on the off side rear quarter. I have been told this is a common fault and if left will eventually become a hole. Is there a fix before it becomes a Hole ?
It is going to have it's three year service next week at HR Owen West End. It is still under Warranty and i have asked them to investigate. Would you think that would come under the Warranty ? Many thanks. Peter. |

More information is needed before any helpful replies can be made. Such as how long you have owned this car, Is the warranty with H R Owen.and most important, will the warranty cover this.I suggest you read the terms and conditions of warranty. |

Many thanks for your reply Philip,
As I mentioned i am new to the Bentley Marque.
I have owned it for a month.
It has A Bentley Warranty which expires 111/12/2020
I thought H.R Owen/Jack Barclay where Bentley's Official Dealers ?
As far as reading the thousands and thousands of pages in the Warranty book i thought would ask the Bentley Official Forum for there advice.
I have been in touch with other Bentley Forums and it is not uncommon for the Roof to wear in that particular area, either side. Apparently there is a strap that snaps, which then exposes the Metal Frame which then rubs the Fabric Roof causing it to wear and eventually wears a hole in the Roof.
Looks like a bad design, !!
The reason i posted in the Official Bentley Forum was to get your expertise .
I'm just surprised that no one has heard of this problem. Many thanks. Peter O'Neill |

I don't know what you mean by Official Bentley Forum. This is the BDC forum and is little used by BDC members. Other RR/B clubs have fora which are much more useful. |

Okay The Bentley Drivers Club, it looks quite Official to me.
Why bother to have a Forum then ??
I would of thought most of members on this Forum drive Bentley's ??
Hence the reason i am asking the question and yes i have found the other Bentley Forums a lot more helpful !!
There is one thing i have learnt today. Fora is the plural of Forum.
Many thanks. Every Day is a School Day |

It is a well known problem and should have been picked up on pre sale inspection. I think you could seek full redress from the retailer. |

Many thanks for your reply. I will let you know the outcome.
H.R. Owen are having Bentley Technical inspect the wear, it will be interesting to see if they acknowledge this is am ongoing design fault and has been reported before. |
