The recommended tyre for this car is Pirelli P Zero size, 275/40/R19Y.
Other tyres with the same spec are available, are cheaper and have better fuel economy, rain grip and decibel indices. They also meet the minimum load index of 925kg.
Is it completely taboo to fit other than the Pirelli Zeros? What other tyres are owners fitting if any please?
Best wishes,
Richard |

Well I would want more than the minimum load index myself.
Then of course it also depends on what style of driving you do. Plus one thing a lot of people forget, If those tyres are the specified tyres then the insurance will expect you to fit them, unless you notify them of a modification and the tyres you are fitting and get WRITTEN APPROVAL that they are accepted. |

Thanks Phil I'm aware of all you say particularly as regards insurance.
It is highly unlikely that I shall be exceeding the national speed limits except on short overtaking bursts.
Kind regards,

I Since I no longer have a GT, I can't look at the handbook for tyre information. My immediate reaction to your post is that something is missing from your tyre code.I think it should have a rating of something like 106Y at the end. Also there is the matter of a B or BC on the tyre wall, which I was told was for Bentley or Bentley Comfort. Either way, it sounds as if you are running on low profile tyres, which some people feel give a harsher ride.
I was frequently offered 101Y tyres and upon investigation found that they were for a BMW rather than a Bentley and lacked the sidewall strength required. Needless to say, they were cheaper.
I'd stick with the tyres recommended in the handbook and use the Pirelli offers quoted in the Advertiser.
Best wishes,
David. |

I too would be reluctant to stray from the recommended Zeros but hope someone comes along with experience of something else.
Very aware of the 632bhp being transmitted through the tyres, together with the weight of the car and its ability to go around corners, but I would like something that lasts a bit longer. I am coming to the end of my second set at 22000 miles.
Anyone know what the new model uses? The local dealer let me have one for a couple of days last year, but forgot to look at the tyres.Amazing performance and handling, makes my GT Speed feel very much like yesterdays car. Probably the best car yet to wear a Bentley badge. Pity it's a Panamera in a party frock. |

Thanks for the information guys. My mechanic has a 2004 GT
and he runs on Nexen N'Fera. They seem to have all the credentials apart from the B suffix. I'm going to investigate further. If not I'll go for the P zero's through the Club offer. |
