What I would like to know is there a list of relays that give their part number and their function and location on the vehicle.
I look on web sites for guidance but they either give a part number and expect you to know if that is the relay you need.
Or you get a picture etc, you get interested and then find out it is not suitable for your vehicle. |

Are there any owners or mechanics who actually know WHERE the relays for the headlamps are in/on the car please.
Looked at various pictures but they do not seem to be of the Brooklands 1994.
Is senility creeping in.I have had my eyes checked. |

I forgot to post that eventually, after realising that the near side is the left side, is senility easing in I wonder.Amazing how the brain seems to lock up and not reboot as it were. |

Have you looked at the Bentley Heritage Parts website ? Enter your VIN number and a whole new world will open up to solve your problem. Not sure how easy it is to use.
Good Luck! |

Re the reply regarding Bentley Heritage website for parts, tried that, think the reply was to "try *** garage" Which had no relation to the part I was after.

well it looks as if the relays under the bonnet (trunk) are similar to those on the turbo etc. a group of 8 relays. Have managed to procure 4, but I cannot find any reference to which operates what in the handbook nor online.
Surely someone knows, rather than me pulling one at a time to test.
I have running lights and can flash main beam for signalling but only right side works on that. no dipped at all. |

Probably showing my lack of knowledge, but is it essential to exactly replicate an existing relay?
I thought their function was simply to act as an electronic switch, saving the need to have lots of high capacity wire running up and down the car? |

Thank you for a reply David, I have spare relays and it seemed to me that exchanging them with those already on the car would be a sure way of testing. They all look the same in a group of 8 on the left side of the car under the bonnet. No indication which controls what. That is why I have asked before I continue, with hope that someone will know which relay does what. It would make this job much easier for me.
In fact the fault could well be one of the relays. |
