We have a 1989 turbo r and the lacquer on both offside doors has cracked and lifted away. The remaining woodwork is in good condition as is the venered section of the two affected doors. I have stripped the lacquer from the top of the capping leaving the lower section untouched.
Does anyone know if the original lacquer is clear or coloured as the old finish when removed is a dark brown.
As I am only recoating the two offside doors if the colour is wrong then these will not match. |

I would recommend that you do all 4 doors if you wish to have all matching.I can assure you that small mistakes stick out like sore thumbs. |

Thanks Phillip...I had come to that conclusion and would like to refinish as close to original as I can without trying to obtain concourse result.
I am unsure if the original is a clear or coloured lacquer from the factory. |
