Hello everyone,
I have a 1969 SY (it's a Shadow, but please, before you stop reading, I also have a 2000 Continental R, so I'm asking for help from my club despite the 1969 coming from the "other" side of the Crewe factory) and I have decided to try and fit its inner headlamps with the yellow, French style lights. I have looked on Flying Spares and while I've found them (though I don't think they're in stock) the price is astronomical, particularly compared to the clear lights...on the order of 10x.
Is it Brexit? (sorry, poor joke).
Seriously - does anyone have suggestions as to what to buy, where to buy it, and what to pay? I can't imagine such Halogen lights with a yellow lens could possibly be that much more. Many thanks for your help, if you can give it.
Cheers, |

I run a 1969 Citroën DS20 with yellow headlights, which are correct for the age of the car. Generally suppliers are stocked with replacement bulbs. I believe there are a couple of well known garages specialised in Citroën ID & DS in the UK who might help. |

Thanks everyone. I think, after cross-referencing answers from BDC and RREC, I am going to go with a yellow lacquer for the headlights; gives the right, warm light I'm looking for without a great deal of expense (which an LED might not quite manage). The problem I'm running into now, for those of you who are NOT in the UK, is that I cannot get Amazon / others to send me this stuff to the US! I'll keep trying and if I find a solution I'll post it here on this thread in case anyone else (in the US, or outside the UK) has the same question.
Great to be a member of this club. Many thanks, again, for your responses. |

David, glad you reached a considered solution.
May I suggest that you include your location in you details or in the posting, it may help with members who want to be helpful.
