|
|
There's a Turbo R I'm interested in for sale at the moment. The photos of it clearly show the rear window has started to delaminate at the bottom.
Is this something that can be lived with for a while? How soon would I be needing to replace it? How much does it cost to replace one of these windows in the UK?
Thanks,
Ben |

I've just realised it's the front windscreen, not rear window. The picture I saw was quite close up. |

It depends upon you having a new screen plus rubber seal or a second hand glass and new rubber of course.have a look on Flying spares, the price will hurt your wallet. Plus I ask what is the metal like beneath. To be honest if the owner has let this happen what else is hiding. You really want a first class body, as the mechanics are just bolt on.and on an SZ they are possibly due this down to age.keep looking and do not settle for less than you want. keep us updated. |

Thanks Philip, I think I'll pass on this one. It's a shame as the car has a pretty interesting rare Wildberry interior but it seems the current vendor is just trying to flip it for a profit - I've found it in an auction in March where it sold for about £1700 less than they currently have it advertised for, though they have recently dropped £2000 off their original price - I wonder if that's related to the window? To their credit they have included a close-up picture of the problem area so they're not trying to hide the problem, though it's not mentioned in the description. |

£2000 off price, it will possibly cost that to replace screen.
What is it that turns you toward a Turbo as apposed to a different model. |

I just really love the Turbo R. The imposing but understated styling matched with the performance a car looking like that shouldn't have in most peoples eyes, matched with its place in history as a real turning point for the Bentley brand. |

Quite agree with the styling comments, but decided on the Brooklands as it is a little bit newer that the Turbo, plus I will not need to worry about the suspension and ,or the worn out turbo replacement.
Then what happens £5k worth of head gasket spent.Oh well. |
