Hello. The 40 amp fuse to the auxiliary fan on my 2005 Arnage T melted and scorched the fuse holder. With new fuse fan is working fine, but is pulling 37 amps. Mechanic feels that's too much draw and recommended replacing the fan. I read that a less expensive replacement is the fan from s VW Phaeton. Writer stated its same part #. Now I can't locate the article. Has anyone heard of this?
Finally, is there a chance the problem could be the relay? Mechanic said no, but I want to ask your opinions. Maybe someone has experience with this problem. |

I wish I could answer your question regarding Phaeton fan, though I'd be surprised if it works on an Arnage since it's an entirely different platform.
I'd tend to agree with your mechanic that the relay is very unlikely since a relay is just a remote operated switch it shouldn't affect the current in any way, however, relays are generally cheap, and replacing it wouldn't hurt anything just to see. |

I appreciate your comments, BB. I bet that Phaeton fan swap was for a GT. I'm sure you're right.
Thanks for sharing your opinion! |
