I'm still pretty new to all this, so I can only offer what it says in the service manual for my SZ car:

Quote:
The cooling system is filled with a solution of 50% ICI 007/400F coolant/anti-freeze and 50% water by volume.

Hope that helps Philip.

Thank you benbrown, I asked because my local garage did my anti freeze for me, but the Bentley/RR garage that I used said that it was incorrect, drained and refilled. This was last year. Our hand books etc are a little behind the times with todays products I am told, so it does still leave me with the query as to which to use.In fact I am not even sure which is in the system at the moment.

Well cold weather is upon us and now is the time to check the strength of the anti freeze. As I already asked but not got any firm answers I raise the subject again and hope for a definitive answer.

I'm taking my Turbo R to Prestige Services later this month for its MOT, if I remember I'll ask them about antifreeze.

It might be worth you giving them a call for advice, I know they're not local to you but they're very knowledgeable and I'm sure they wouldn't mind answering a quick query: 0113 2842780

If you want to use a 'Bentley' coolant go to Flying Spares, who have it in stock. Alternatively, use a cheaper 'off the shelf' antifreeze according to the age of the car, ie, IAT for early cars and OAT for more modern cars. I cannot advise what is correct for an SZ, but for my own T1 I use good old fashioned Bluecol ethylene glycol, an IAT. This is much cheaper than buying something with 'Bentley' written on the container.
