Does anyone have a cross section drawing of the 3 litre starter motor, please? An installation drawing and overhauling information are also required. No such information exists in the big green book.
Thank you. |

I don’t have the information that you are looking for, but do have a smiths starter motor on my shelf that was rebuilt and subsequently only little used before I replaced it with a Bs5.
You would be welcome to borrow it (or buy it). |

Thanks for your reply. I do not need a replacement starter motor. I simply want to check it over having suffered the pinion jamming against the ring gear yesterday when trying to start after filling with petrol. The screws holding the rear end plate had come loose allowing the motor shaft to move sideways. The big green book is devoid of any diagrams or details. |
