This car came up in another forum. I thought it interesting with the marine type ventilators and V screen. Does anyone recognise the car, owned at the time by C. Mackenzie Hill |

I checked my BDC “Members and their Bentleys” between 1950 and 1976 but he doesn’t appear in any of them. Perhaps someone with later editions can check John. Not listed in the VSCC either.

Gentlemen,
Does this narrow the search? Any mention of McKenzie, and Mac McKenzie come up.
We have had 6 inches of snow dumped upon us overnight, the yard is passable, in a tractor, schools are closed, it will freeze hard, tonight and all the song birds at at risk.
More than half of the died in the winter 62/63. It was a shocker, and the last time that there was smog in the air was 1963.
I am effectively housebound, and thumb twiddling abounds.

Thanks Christopher, as far as I am aware no connection with ‘Mac’ Mackenzie. I thought that the vents and V screen would make it easy to identify, I was wrong! |

John,
Do you think that it looks like this picture of the first Terdich body on 602, your car?
Arthur Terdich is on the left of the picture. He and his brother had a furniture factory, and also built the subsequent saloon body.
602 had quite a strange and eventful history.

It hadn’t crossed my mind that it could be the original body from 602 in Australia. The saloon body only stayed on for 3 years (subsequently supposedly on a RR 20) the tourer body went back on for some years before being replaced by a later styled tourer. The current body on 602 went on circa 1962,
I suppose the original body could have gone onto a different chassis which could have been imported to the uk. |

I can say for certain that the body has nothing to do with that once fitted to 602.
By coincidence I found myself next to ch. 897 at Bicester Heritage this morning which is definitely the car in the photo. The body is by Morgan and started life as a two seat with dicky, modified into its current form in the late 1930’s. |
