Well, I have a Ballast resistor hooked up and a coil with an internal ballast.
Both ends of the brown ballast im 12 volts.
My coil ohms is 1.6 .
Am I breaking down at revs or a pull back?
Is it to much resistance.
Should I run a NON INTERNAL BALLAST COILWITH THE ORIGINAL BROWN BALLAST.
Or just buy a new coil with an internal ballast and delete the old brown unit
Thanks in advance.

Buy a straight 12 volt coil, bypass the original ballast resistor by attaching a l/v wire to the coil from the original feed to the resistor.
Many prewar R-R and B,s have been running like this for years, in fact it was a "factory" instruction in the 1950,s when all the old coils had been discontinued.
The old mushroom coils were wound with the primary in the middle to follow the original Kettering patent, and run at 4 v to avoid overheating breakdowns, but the idea is far too archaic for me. |

Thank you
I ordered a 3.0 ohm coil with no internal ballast
Bypassing the old baker lite ballast
Thank you
If I’m not happy
I’ll try electronic ignition
