| Assuming the reason for a flat battery in the morning is due to battery being some years old, I fitted a new one and have exactly the same problem. Does anyone know the correct standby current? |

Hi Norman,
I don't have the exact figure, but the quiescent battery drain should be low milliamps, even with the doors locked and the alarm set. When originally designed, the car would have been expected to pass an "airport" style battery durability test - involving being locked up for a week or maybe two and being expected to unlock and start without issue.
From a quick google search, Flying Spares comes up with a negative earth 12V 76AH 320A DIN rated OEM spec battery (UT14075PB) - what have you fitted to yours?
Have you tried fully recharging the battery and then leaving it unlocked (if possible)? Does that change how quickly it goes flat? Are you able to splice an ammeter into the battery supply and check the drain both locked (and alarmed) and unlocked? These might give clues as to where to look....
