Concours of Elegance
Wednesday 17th June, 2020
By Stuart Newman
At Hampton Court Palace - Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2020
Club Members once again invited to take part in prestigious annual event
This year’s Concours of Elegance will once again be held in the salubrious surroundings of Hampton Court Palace in Surrey – and, as ever, the Club will be represented at the illustrious classic car showcase.
With the Covid-19 pandemic having caused the cancellation of similar activities worldwide, the event – allowing visitors to see the ‘rarest cars in the world from around the world’ – will be the first major international concours to be held since Amelia Island in March.
As ever, the BDC has been invited to display some 40-60 of its Members’ cars, on the Sunday, when the Club will enjoy a prime position in front of the palace for Bentley Day (in association with Bentley Motors).
The day will incorporate the Bentley Trophy, with all cars being judged in separate classes to decide which should claim the various coveted awards. The only conditions are that Members arrive early and be able to leave their car in position until the day’s events close. No dogs are allowed.
BDC Members have been offered discounted rates on ticket prices (see panel). Tickets are available for the Saturday; however, parking on that day, although inside the palace’s 60-acre Fountain Gardens, will not enjoy the same prominence as on Sunday.
Please note that, due to the government’s current social distancing guidelines, fewer general admission tickets will be available this year and each will have an allotted entry time.
