A very nice 4½ sold at Bonhams yesterday, but does anyone know what that nicely engineered lever is just below the steering column, viewable in the second dashboard photo?

| If you look at the 4th picture, it is shown strapped to the underside of the steering column, before disappearing down to the rear shackle position, via a Hooke joint. |

| My guess is it is for adjusting the angle of the headlights. |

If you look at the "angled" photo of the O/S engine, you can see a link going up to the headlamp stand so, I also think that it is a manual dipping system.
