Dear All,
Thinking about the Hunaudieres concept that was publicised at around the Millennium.....
Was this a serious proposal or a 'test the water' concept ?
Should the factory have gone ahead with it and if not what stopped it ?
Given the prices of Bugatti's or McLaren's, surely the sell price was not a factor ? Or was it the countries economic situation that put the kybosh on it ?
Could it, would it, should it be made now ?
Rhetorical questions but would be interested in forum participants views
Regards,
Lawrie. |

Hi Lawrie,
As I understand, some of the research gained from the Hunaudieres concept directly led to the parent company VW producing the Bugatti Veyron so it was to some extent a serious proposal - just not for Bentley unfortunately. I saw the new Bugatti Chiron last night, it would have been nicer if it was badged as a Bentley but very nice it was too.
Meanwhile, we have this to look forward to http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/bentley/90678/bentley-exp-10-speed-6-supercar-spotted-on-road-for-first-time.

Thanks Andrew, that seems to be the way of it, but like you, I feel that it's a shame and maybe a lost opportunity to create a 'halo car' for Bentley.
