I see that Derby ignition coils are finally back in stock at nearly £600 each. Due to previous lack of availability I've been running on modern 12V coils (ballast resistor bypassed) that cost about £18 each. I had heard that the previous batch (from a couple of years ago?) were no good so does anyone know if this batch has definitely fixed whatever the problem was? I can't afford to waste £1200! Also be interested to know how authentic the new ones look?

The 4v ballast resistor prewar type should be left in "The Ark" it is so obsolete.
The modern 12 v coil should be a recognised "Must". Nay bother.
