Managed to break a front spring this morning in the 3 litre and never knew I had done it until I had returned home. Glanced down to the see front nearside spring shackle was set back and touching the stops at the back of the hanging bracket.
Inspection revealed that the main leaf had broken very close to the front eye underneath the dumbiron. Some of the roads round here are rather bumpy, but I never thought they were bad enough to break a spring.
Next job will be to get the car jacked up and both springs off.
Any good experiences of leaf spring repairers gratefully received.

Thanks for your recommendations. Have now stripped down both front springs and packed up the top two leaves from the 'good' side to send to Owen Springs with a request for a quote to remake these for both near and offside.
Will report progress in due course.

Pleased to report that Owen Springs have delivered to me a new pair of front near side and offside main and second leaves. Main leaves fitted with the shackle pin bushes I supplied. Also they supplied a pair of new centre bolts. Look very good, I now have to re-assemble the springs and refit to the car.
Total cost including delivery £166.
