Make sure that it has a good starter or everything between the front of the radiator and the bulkhead has to come out, to get at it.

Good morning,

I am a Bentley service manager in Massachusetts, USA. We have an article on things to look for in a GT on our blog, here

Thanks, I am a senior technical consultant for the American club (RROC) and I have decided to try and help out with technical issues here. I have overseen Bentley service (All Crewe cars prior to 03) for 30 years so my knowledge covers most postwar cars.

Make sure you get a car with history, preferably invoices too to show what’s been done, if there’s no invoices ring the garage responsible for the last few services and ask if they have record of what’s done.
Do t be afraid of cars with high miles, if looked after properly these cars can eat up the miles without too many issues. In fact the one thing a W12 car doesn’t like is being sat about unused, these are the cars that normally come to us with electrical gremlins.
Starter motors are a big job, but also check the condition of the front brake discs, the discs on the Continental GT were the biggest production brake discs on any road car when it was launched in 2003, and consequently they have a price to match 😂
If your not going to do many miles invest in a trickle charger to maintain your batteries.
