Hello Michael and greetings from France
I cannot help with the disc I am afraid although my understanding is that it is a very old system. Apart from testing that the screen raises I have not even tried to turn mine on so far.
Because of the outdated reputation of the Alpine system (which I realise was cutting edge when it came out albeit 20 years ago) prior to the delivery of my 2000 Arnage I looked into upgrades.
Balmoral cars have what appears to be the perfect solution. A 6.9 inch Garmin screen which fits inside the old Alpine screen casing. As a small extra you can have a rear view camera as well.
I was going to have mine converted prior to returning here to France but due to illness a friend drove the car back. I dealt with a nice guy called Andy. The total cost including installation was I think 650 Pounds plus VAT but including the rear camera and all fitting.
If you are interested please drop me a note and I will copy you on the estimate and sales blurb but it did look very good indeed.
Just in case anybody is wondering, I have no connection with Balmoral cars. |
