I have had the coils on my old regulator and cut-out rewound and wish to have the unit checked to confirm that it is set up correctly. I am having trouble finding anyone who feels competent to do this, including Classic Dynamo and Regulator Conversions. Can anyone help with recommending a company that could do this? |

Ribblesdale Autoelectrics, they advertise in "The Automobile". Old style, very good. |

I am afraid that Ribblesdale Auto Electrics have not been able to refurbish my regulator and cut-out.
Might anyone know of another company that has experience of the Derby item or does anyone have any experience with modifying this to accommodate a modern regulator and cut-out in place of the original? |

I don't know if you have now solved your problem, but these people seem to be working along the right lines, so may be worth contacting.

My 'other' hobby is vintage tractors, and the regulators and charging circuits can be a bit of a problem there, too, so I keep a 'list' of companies that may one day get me out of a hole.
Good luck |

The cut-out assembly can be rebuilt by Armoto.

If your regulator is non-functional it can be replaced by the electronic one sold by the BDC, Derby Spares Scheme. |

Thank you for your feedback regarding my Regulator/cut-out. I could not find anybody that could repair the original unit but did find a gentleman, Trevor Joyce, that rebuilt it (at a not insignificant cost) with the unit I subsequently found was the same as provided by the Club. This item can also be found at motor factors significantly cheaper if you wish to look for it. It does now work exceptionally well. |
