Morning All I have just booked my Azure in to P & A Wood for its annual service. I cannot fault them for my servicing and I have 3 cars with them. The service rates quoted on this 2007 car are £140 p/h. I understand that pre 2003 they charge £80.00 per hour. I thought that I read in one of the club magazines that another major player (for servicing) had a better rate for the slightly older cars (ie 2007 !) can any of you chaps recall who it was and have you any personal experience of the service. It is doubtful that I have done 800 miles since last years service. The car has had main dealer service from new and whilst I am not a fan of paying £140 per hour, I would not like to be the first to put the vehicle in to the specialist market (although I fully understand that the service, quality and parts would be the same). I am near Canterbury Kent.
Regards
John. |

My specialist in the midlands has just raised his rate from £70 to £75 /mh. I consider this to be at the upper limit of reasonableness. My local, very good, 'back street' garage charges £45 /mh. I know he does some classics so I will be asking him if he is familiar with Shadow/T's. As long as some dealers can get away with charging £140 they will continue to do so. Owners can help themselves by voting with their feet.
I'm sure you can find a good maintainer in Kent, rather than drive all the way to Essex. |
