The boot on my 09 GTC suddenly stoped opening electrically unless the engine is running! I replaced both batteries last year but am not very diligent at plugging her in to the trickle charger.

When I press open on the B button or fob it unlocks and rises about 1/2 inch and then stops.

Also, I had the rear strip brake light replaced a year ago and a Bentley technician says it was not done properly and is allowing damp in which, he says could have damaged a computer!

Being non-technical I can't see the corolation but would really appreciate any advise/comments before I embark on another costly investigation and swapping of computers

Many Thanks

Alan

PS - My WO is 98 and doesn't give me any problems!

Hi Allan,

I had the same thing with my 14 plate GT. The motor is often the issue, however Bentley don't stock the motors any longer as the manufacturer is no longer in business.

I found a guy who rebuilds electric motors and has done Bentley boot motors. My local specialist contacted him and arranged to remove the motor and send it to him. It was back in two days and has worked perfectly ever since.

Hope the info is helpful.
