Does anyone have a couple of 3 litre bonnet long wing nuts that are surplus to requirements. Before I ask round the restorers or buy a couple of new ones from the spares scheme I wondered if someone may have converted to the ring pull type catches and have the odd wing nut type they might wish to sell.

John, that version looks a bit more technical than I have fitted. In my case the stem of the nut is longer and has a spherical end which locates in the fork on the bonnet and it is just screwed down to tighten. This is the type shown in the spares catalogue.
There is no spring as shown in the photo you posted.

I have no idea as to the origins of those in my photo, other than they had definitely been on since 1962. A real pain to use, so I put on the later type! |
