Went to collect my recently acquired Arnarge yr 2000 red label i.e. 6.75 Lt RR engine, from garage and was shocked to be informed that the end part of the Dip Stick was missing ( brocken off ). Would anyone kindly give me the length of the (flexi) blade please. Quite upset as Silver Lady sold it me with a service, so how did they do it?
Note just the blade length without the head part. Trying to source on but proving difficult. |

Silver Lady Bentley in Bournemouth where i purchased the car in September have now sourced a replacement dip stock at a cost of £163.35 plus VAT so around £196, given that the first time the dip stick was removed i was there and saw it was defective. So i am in contact with Silver Lady to negotiate a fair solution.
No, the whistle is still there. The local mechanic could only trace it to near an open pipe, so has fitted a screw to close it off; however the whistle is still there and he is looking for a pipe diagram to search further. I still think it may be the supercharger as it only occurs when accelerating or going uphill under load. It is not loud but i have good hearing and it is annoying as it should not be there and the engine is otherwise silent, as it should be. The car is in very good general condition including underneath so i am keen to get these minor problems sorted before venturing far. |

New, improved, type - Dip-Sick arrived and fitted, went in easily so where is the missing end part? Car runs fine ( apart from the low whistle) so either it was missing when i purchased it from Silver Lady or it is lying in the sump. Will ask garage to search/find out in Feb when going for servicing. |

I too lost the end of my dipstick, I just pulled it out and the end was missing, P & A Wood told me not to worry, they all do that and there is a wire mesh at the bottom of the tube which stops the broken end falling into the engine. I have yet to get around to getting a new one as I have been busy but if anyone knows where to source one I would be grateful, I live in Hertfordshire. |

Joe,
My very sincere thanks for that welcome information, i can now sleep better and take car out without constantly worrying. I take it you were referring to an Arnarge or the 6.74 litre RR engine?
As for you 'problem' maybe i can help you in return?
I would try sales+id225376@flyingspares.zendesk.com
Otherwise, here is the garage that sourced my replacement.
