It is most likely the clock in my 1930 4 1/2 litre is a Jaeger 8-day, manual-winding clock. Does anyone have suggestions on where such clock could be sent for servicing?

Thank you.

Jay,
Although it would necessitate sending your clock back to the UK, I can thoroughly recommend Steven Hale. They are a well established watch restoration company. They are also an accredited Rolex repairer and they are very reasonable. You could at least ask them about your clock.

It would be interesting to know how you progress.

Thank you, much, Martin. I certainly do not mind sending the clock back to the UK. In fact, an Autovac is there as I type this. I hope to be personally and physically in the UK in the near future.

Again, thank you. I'll keep you posted.

Regards,

Jay

Jaeger started a factory in England to make these "panel" clocks in 1921, they sold the bulk of the business to Smiths in about 1925.

Should you dial read "British Jaeger" , then it was made by Smiths Industries, in Cricklewood.

The Derby Bentley has Smiths instruments, and a small 8 day clock within the tachometer.

Christopher, you are a mine of interesting information.

Another possible person to approach re clock repairs could be
Mike Flannery,
magnetic-speedometer-repair.com

I understand that he is a skilled repairer of clocks as well as instruments.
